Vocal Improvisation Evening

March 24  ·  6pm  ·  Copenhagen

I'm inviting for a shared vocal improvisation journey: listening, responding, composing in the moment, and tuning into one another.
🌱
You can expect a stronger sense of trust in your, and collective voice, sharper listening skills, and an embodied, bonding experience of making music with others.

Methods

We’ll work with methods of Collaborative Vocal Improvisation (CVI), diving as a group into collective music-making. The focus is on presence, play, developing musicianship and musical intuition, and experiencing the bonding of singing together. We will be looping and harmonising short melodies we come up as a group and individually, becoming a complex voice orchestra of melodic and rhythmical elements.

Recently, I travelled to the UK to train in CVI with one of its leading figures, Briony Greenhill. I came back with a big toolbox, which I now combine with my own methods into this offering!

For me, singing is an ultimate practice, for connection with myself, group, and the world. And vocal impro invites both precision and playfulness, structure and freedom, individuality and collective awareness.

Prerequisites

A basic ability to sing in pitch, follow rhythm, and a willingness to be adventurous.
